In my experience, there are two main reasons sellers are tempted to try For Sale By Owner (FSBO); they think a seller’s market means they will be able to sell easily, or, they are trying to save money and maximize their profit by avoiding realtor fees. I get it. However, I wouldn’t be in this profession if I didn’t feel like using a Realtor is a better option for sellers. Here are just a few of the many reasons why using a Realtor over FSBO will help your home sale be successful.

• Working with a Realtor allows you to get a professional perspective on your home before listing it. A Realtor can give you some tips on how to improve appearance to appeal to buyers, and what quick improvements you can make to it to add value to the home.
• Negotiations can get tricky. Working with an experienced Realtor means you’ll have someone working with you, giving you their professional advice on offers and counter-offers. An experienced Realtor can help you set an appropriate price for your home, and work through offers with you to make sure you aren’t underselling your home.
